Yes — TIGP provides fellowship support (stipend) for admitted graduate students, at least for the first year. The amount and continuation depend on satisfactory academic/progress evaluation and advisor support.

The curriculum is interdisciplinary: students take courses across neuroscience, molecular biology, imaging, computational methods, etc., and then join a research group under a thesis advisor. The program leads to PhD (or master) degrees depending on prior qualifications.

The renewal procedure depends on the type and current status of your ARC. Please check your ARC first to confirm its expiration date and the type of ARC you hold. If you are unsure whether you need to renew your ARC or which procedure you should follow, please prepare your current ARC and relevant information before you inquire the international office from university.

The Lab Rotation Form can be downloaded from Regulations & Forms on the TIGP-INS website. TIGP-INS students are required to complete two laboratory rotations, each lasting for at least two months. The two rotations should be completed by the end of the first academic year. Please refer to ACADEMICS → Degree Requirements and ACADEMICS → Curriculum for details.

Students should choose their thesis advisor/co-advisor after completing the required laboratory rotations and then begin full-time research. Please refer to ACADEMICS → Thesis Advisor for the detailed requirements and procedures. Every student is expected to complete and submit the thesis advisor record before the end of May.

In the duration of receiving the TIGP-INS stipend, studentsare required to have their advisor/lab PI sign the Stipend Form every month and submit the signed form to the INS office for record-keeping. Yes. Please remember to register for your courses every semester in the course selection system of your university. Signing up the course on AS campus is not equal to officially enrolling to the courses. TIGP-INS students are required to complete the required courses according to the program curriculum. In particular, first-year students must complete the required courses specified by the program. Please make sure to complete your course registration within the university's registration period. For exact duration, please refer to your school calendar. The timing of the Qualifying Examination depends on your entry qualification. For students entering with a master’s degree, the examination should normally be completed by the end of February of the second year. For students entering with a bachelor’s degree, the examination should normally be completed by the end of February of the third year (the second year of their Ph.D. program).
